Ultralight rapid-deployment bridge

A portable, ultralight bridge system that restores vehicle crossing in tactical, emergency and remote operations — deployable in hours, without heavy machinery and transportable on standard vehicles.

What it solves

Bridging critical gaps where conventional solutions cannot reach.

Conventional temporary bridge systems are heavy, require significant transport logistics, and demand heavy machinery and large crews for installation. In expeditionary, emergency, or remote environments — where infrastructure is absent and time is critical — these constraints make conventional solutions operationally unviable.

TBO's rapid-deployment bridge uses low-pressure inflated beams as the primary load-bearing structural members. Based on the Tensairity principle — combining tension, air, and structural integrity — the system achieves load-bearing capacity equivalent to conventional steel girders at a fraction of the weight and stored volume. A 14-metre span deploys in approximately 8 hours with 8 personnel and no heavy equipment.

Why TBO Rapid-Deployment Bridge

Structural performance without the logistical burden.

Up to 10× lighter than alternatives

At 100 kg/m², the system is up to 10 times lighter than conventional temporary bridge solutions of equivalent span. A complete 14-metre bridge packs into 12 m³ — transportable in standard military or civilian vehicles with no specialist logistics.

No heavy machinery required

Deployment requires 8 personnel and approximately 8 hours. No cranes, no heavy plant, no prepared ground. The system is designed for environments where infrastructure support is absent or unavailable.

Modular and scalable

The bridge is composed of independent segments. Span length and load capacity are configured by the number of segments deployed — from 15.6 m at MLC 30 to 31.2 m at MLC 16 — adapting to the operational requirement without changing the base system.

Validated structural technology

The Tensairity structural principle combines compression rods, tension ropes, and low-pressure air elements to form a load-bearing beam with a load-to-weight ratio of 7:1. Technology base validated at prototype level. Commercial version in active engineering development.

Product Range

Reference specifications.

The reference configuration spans 14 metres at a total weight of 5 tonnes — up to 10 times lighter than conventional temporary bridge alternatives. Deploys in approximately 8 hours with 8 personnel, no heavy machinery required. Based on validated prototype; commercial version in active engineering development.
